Sending Malaysian to Space

Hye3 everybody !

This is my first post and i hope you will enjoy and gain some knowledge from my sharing. :)

First of all, do you still remember what happened in 2007? If no, let's continue reading ! :D

Maybe this will help you in the way to catch back all the memories in the year.

Malaysian Space Mission had been past almost for more than 6 years ago, we as the Malaysians should know and remember about this as it is one of our best achievements after several other breaking events like the Mount Everest Mission, Around the World Solo Mission of Datuk Azhar Mansor and also the latest one which is 1 Malaysia Round The World.

So, can you guess what i am going to write about? oh yes !
This is all about the mission for sending our Malaysian to the space ! Let's bring your mind into this new history created by our Malaysian.

Malaysia’s forth Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad had announced the National Space Program on 7th August 2003 during his visit to Astronautic Technology (M) Sdn. Bhd. During his speech, Tun Dr. Mahathir announced that Malaysia will send two or three Malaysians to be astronauts to undergo training in Russia in order to join the space exploration research mission with astronaut in 2005. The programme for sending a Malaysian to space was conceived in 2003 when Russia agreed to send a Malaysian to the ISS as part of Malaysia's RM3.4 billion purchases of 18 Russian-made Sukhoi jet fighters.

Our chosen Malaysians will be there for two years having training as the preparation to be an astronaut. There had been several modules that all the astronaut-to-be should pass in order to make sure that they are fully prepared for the mission besides to learn something from the other experienced astronauts from Russia.

On 26 March 2004, Datuk Dr. Mazlan Othman the director of National Space Agency (Angkasa) had announced that the mission for sending our first astronaut was postponed until 2007. The reason why they need to postpone the mission was because NASA were doing an investigation into the space shuttle of Columbia that had been exploded and seven crews were killed in the accident.

Take a deep breath :D It was just postponed, not cancelled. So if you want to know more, let's continue reading  in my next post . Thank you for spending your time to read this entry :)
